The 60's saw the Fender Stratocaster finally come of age, with prominent guitarists such as Pete Townsend and Eric Clapton switching to the Strat as their main guitars. With the popularity of surf music waining, the Stratocaster had poised itself as the go-to instrument for rock guitarists.
With the introduciton of the larger headstock, reverse wound/reverse polarity mid pickup, and the 5-way switch as a standard feature, 60's strats became an instant hit with players of the day.
The team at Fender Custom Shop have painstakingly recreated the 1968 Stratocaster down to the finest of details, and have produced this fantastic example of what a 1968 Strat would look like after years of relentless use.
