Who we are:
Kirk grew up in Cairns and learnt trumpet through his school's music program. Before long, he was playing in 3 school bands, learning multiple instruments, and also taking to the stage in lead roles in school musicals. In 2000, Kirk joined the Cairns contingent of the Sydney Olympic Band that performed in the Olympic opening ceremony (as well as the Cairns Taipans home games).
Kirk's first trumpet and guitars were purchased from Buzz Music, and in 2001, Kirk got his first retail job as a sales consultant at Buzz.
In 2006 Kirk graduated from Queensland Conservatorium Griffith University with a Bachelor of Music Technology. Kirk has worked as a live sound and recording engineer.
He has recorded multiple albums and EPs that have had national radio play, operated live sound at "Big Day Out", and worked on several short film projects.
Kirk has worked in musical instrument retail for over 10 years in one of Australia's largest guitar and audio tech stores.
He has a passion for integrating education and technology and ensuring young musicians have access to the latest technology.
Leanne's passion for singing began when she was a young girl growing up on a cattle property in central-north Queensland. She began singing in competitions while in primary school, and quickly established herself as a vocal powerhouse of the central Queensland circuit.
She has fond memories of mail and phone ordering equipment from Buzz Music, and even purchased her first acoustic and electric guitars from Buzz.
In 2007, Leanne graduated from CQU Conservatorium with a Bachelor of Music majoring in Contemporary Voice. During this time, Leanne taught both contemporary voice and guitar as well as performing in several live theatrical productions.
In recent years, Leanne has been the frontwoman for original rock band LittleLam that has performed at various venues around Queensland and enjoyed national radio play.
Leanne has worked in musical instrument retail for 5 years. In that time she headed up Queenslands largest print, band, orchestral and piano store. Her aim is always to provide her customers with the best service and advice.
